Because Yaoi.Chat is entirely non-monetized, we limit data collection to what is strictly necessary to run the platform securely:

• Account Data: When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password (which is securely hashed).
• User-Generated Content: We store the text messages, images, and settings you create within Guilds so they can be delivered to other users.
• Report Data: When a message is reported using our built-in reporting functionality, the relevant chat logs surrounding that specific message are compiled and flagged for administration review.
• Technical Data: We automatically log basic technical information, such as your IP address and device/browser type, solely for server performance, bug tracking, and DDOS mitigation.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

• Provide, maintain, and secure the Platform.
• Allow Guild communication and facilitate interactions with text-based AI Chatbots.
• Investigate safety and policy violations via user-submitted reports.
• Prevent spam, bots, or unauthorized access.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data or chat logs with any third-party advertisers.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We only share data in the following specific circumstances:

• Within the Platform: Messages sent in public or shared Guild channels are visible to members of that community and the respective Guild moderators.
• Legal Demands: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or a legal request from law enforcement (such as a subpoena), or to prevent imminent physical harm.

4. Data Security & Retention

• Security: We implement industry-standard security measures to safeguard your account data against unauthorized access or alteration.
• Retention: Chat history is retained to keep conversations cohesive across your Guilds. Reported chat logs are retained long enough to investigate and enforce our Acceptable Use Policy.

5. Your Rights (California and Regional Privacy Rights)

As a platform governed by the laws of the State of California, we respect your right to manage your privacy:

• Access and Deletion: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you or request its permanent deletion. Deleting your account will remove your profile data.
• Do Not Sell My Info: We do not sell your data, so no opt-out is necessary.

6. Children's Privacy

Yaoi.Chat is strictly restricted to individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that an account belongs to a minor, it will be immediately terminated and all associated data purged.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the platform constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated terms.
